SCULPTRA
Natural Volumization
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator that helps restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles.
Sculptra works with your body within the deep dermis to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume. As the Sculptra PLLA microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production. Rebuilt collagen strands begin gradually helping to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds.
How does Sculptra work?

Sculptra is made with biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments. Sculptra is injected into the appropriate dermal plane where strands of collagen support your skin's structure.
Over time, Sculptra helps the body reproduce lost collagen. The number of injection appointments and the number of injections per appointment vary from person to person, depending on how much collagen has been lost. On average, three injection appointments are needed over a period of a few months. Results are seen 3-6 months post treatment.

What to Expect During Consultation
We begin all appointments with a consultation. During the consultation, we review he area(s) of concern, and review your medical history. It is important to fully disclose your medical history prior to treatment as certain allergies, skin & neurological conditions or medications can jeopardize your safety or results.
We will then take your before and after pictures for your charts.
What to Expect During Treatment
It is preferred that you attend your appointment without makeup. This is to ensure the area can be properly cleansed and we are able to view any changes in the skin. After the area being treated is cleaned, we apply topical Lidocaine to help numb the area. Other options for pain management may include topical ice or a dental block. After about 15 minutes, we will begin the treatment. Sculptra will be injected using a blunt tip cannula. Your injector will be monitoring you closely during the treatment. Most treatments take 60 minutes.
What to Expect Post Procedure
After your appointment, it is common to have mild bruising and swelling. This is temporary and should begin to resolve over the next few days. It is best to avoid exercise for 24-48 hours after dermal filler, but depending on the areas being treated, your injector will provide you with instructions. Redness, tenderness and bumps are normal. Using acetaminophen and keeping your head elevated during sleep may help this resolve quicker. Topical Arnica may be applied to help reduce bruising. Lumps and bumps are also normal during the first 2 weeks. Booking a 3 week follow up appointment is encouraged to assess the outcome of injections.
